Tugging is a healthy, powerful desire for many high drive toy oriented dogs. The game is highly rewarding to these dogs and, can be skillfully used to motivate dogs in training obedience, agility, bite sports, and fly ball. It's also one of many ways to build strong focus with pet dogs, not to mention great cooperative play.
This two day seminar is for professional trainers, hobby trainers, sport dog handlers, and anyone interested in learning how to tug safely and correctly with their dog.
We talk about how and why to use tug in dog training and sports, go through the mechanics of tugging and problem solving. Time is spent on engaging in a way that builds a cooperative play relationship between handler and dog using positive methods.
